I think Pokémon is banning graded psa or beckett pokemon cards from now on. I don’t think pokemon wants it to be for profit taking or for gambling when it comes to the graded stuff from now on. They just want it to be for people to play pokemon with their friends or have them kept as raw straight from the box.

Biggest argument for this is Evolving Skies. Boxes have appreciated less than 5% off last year's ATHs and PSA 10 alt arts from the set have seen substantial growth in the same timeframe. It makes me think the supply of evo skies boxes is being met with low demand. My guess is people are hesitant to pick it up at its current value for investment, and rip and shippers stay away because people want to rip the new sets at more attractive pack values at hit rates. At the same time those who held are ready to exit because the boxes have stayed flat, so they are constantly hitting the market. The brigade of folks saying Evo Skies will run to 5k in a short timespan has disappeared… Curious to hear your take on Evo Skies in particular in a future episode! 👀
