I didn’t technically start late. At 39 in 2024 I had 60k on an employer plan(now rollover Ira). We had a lot of debt. Got out quick selling our camper and other things. Had a nice bonus at work so we were able to build our emergency fund. Today I personally have 120k, combined my wife and I are around 275. I know we’re doing pretty solid but I still wish was better with money earlier. We’re trying to invest a minimum of 25% which we will be closer to 30 this year. Get out of debt and track your income!!

    $60K 401K at 32, now $606K at 44. In 11 years I’ll be at $1.6MM minimum, won’t stop until I get there.

My net worth: $1,009,000 (includes $235K in paid off home).

I like using fidelitys full view. I link up all of accounts (retirement, credit card, mortgage) and it calculates my net worth.

    Also tracks our spending.

    Really helpful

Thank you for your positivity. I'm about to be 41. I had a great job with a nice wage and a 401k, owned a home, had a side hustle… then let a bad relationship happen, sold the house, moved across the country, spent money on stuff I probably shouldn't have, and have been in limbo for the last couple of years. I have been feeling like I just messed everything up and it's too late to make things better. A couple of days ago I found a subscription I didn't know about that I am going to cancel. I also applied to refinance my car that I got a horrible loan on now that my cards are paid off and I've been paying extra on the loan. Today I opened a high yield savings account to take advantage of what I do have saved. The next steps are a HSA and a Roth IRA. Maybe even find a better job with retirement benefits. I have a couple of side hustles again but I also have some more skills that I'm not taking advantage of yet, but I think that will change soon. Thanks again for the energy you brought in this video. Now I don't feel hopeless.

yeah taking a hard look at what you actually owe changes everything for building wealth later. i started doing that with my holdings across chains on era wallet and it helped a ton
