Is there a way to see all the companies in an index fund? If I'm going to put my money in an index fund of 3 or 4000 companies, I want to know exactly what I'm investing in and supporting. On Freetrade though, I can only see about half a dozen in any breakdown.
I can just about get away with £250 a month. I was thinking about £100 in a couple of ETFs and using the £50 as ‘learning money’ to slowly build up stocks in interesting individual companies. Although I guess that’s a bit naff?
Exactly the kind of investing video beginners need, Straightforward steps on how to start in the market, practical strategies you can actually use, and clear guidance that makes beginning feel achievable. I started investing when I was 37, mostly through sweat equity. I just turned 52 and this last month was the first time that my passive income broke $500,000.
I started last year and chose a well known brand to get started with high fees and no transparency feel like it was a good start but now I know a bit more I want to do the low cost platform global index fund. It was a safe place to start as there was a lot of noise around starting crypto but I still don’t understand crypto so I’m going to track the global index.
As an investment enthusiast, I often wonder how top-level investors are able to become millionaires through investing. I have a significant amount of capital to start with, but I'm unsure about the strategies and direction I should take to help me generate substantial profits like some people are this season.
It doesn’t matter if the market is going up or down; most people still lose because they try to guess the next move instead of following a real plan. If you're new to crypto, the best thing you can do is stop listening to the hype and find a logic that actually makes sense to you.
Hi Toby, great video and im really using your content to help on the investment journey. I have just opened a Stocks and shares ISA however Vanguard's FTSE All world is apparently only available via a GIA, not Isa according to HMRC rules?
Great!!!! Now I've hit $558,685. I was having this exact conversation with my son the other night-generational wealth isn't just about getting money. It's about teaching everyone not only how to make it, but also how to maintain it. It does no good for me to provide for my family if they don't understand how to manage and sustain it.
My head keeps going back to the bit at the end. 15 out of those 20 years for gains to start overtaking deposits….. So does that mean you won't see any real profit along the way? Only expenditure until the 20th year, but then you could (maybe) see around 40k profit? Knowing my luck I'd croak it in the 19th year!! I feel like it's too late for me now at 40 years old. I do like the idea of it though, wish I'd started sooner.
Genuinely interested to know – in 15 years if my portfolio is good and I retire, what do I do then? Switch ACC to DIST and live off the dividends? Or sell my portfolio but then do what with the money if I don’t blow it in? Thanks.
Hi, really learning alot with your videos. Im 45 self employed plumber/gas fitter. Ive been terrible with money. My mindset is gradually shifting and id like to invest. But i dont want to go in without knowing anything. Can you recommend how someone of my age with no savings and now pension, renting……1 what top 3 books should i read? 2. Would it be worth investing into s and p 500 on a monthly basis or are there better options? Thankyou
So at the same time bro said ideally invest in just 1 company, and then he says the more diversification the better, then he says splitting between lots of investments is good, then he says keep it simple just 1 investment??? Bro this guy adding more complex information to already a hugely confusing situation. Stop lieing and just give honest good information not "invest in only 1 company" then insatnly proceed to say spread the investments more diversly. Bro is a hyprocit
This video is excellent. I’m still young about to start full time work, currently have a LISA and just now am thinking about opening up a S&S ISA. Thank you for the information!
£6000 into investments (safe Index funds, in an ISA) – Global Funds 55% (30% ftse all world acc + 25% dist) – UK Funds 10% (5% ftse 250 dist, 5% ftse 100 acc) – US ACC Fund 30% (s&p 500 acc) – Physical Metals 5% (3.75% Gold, 1.25% silver)
Does that free fractional share of £100 that goes into your isa count as some of your isa allowance. So if i deposited 20k lump sum then took the share via the promo code would that take me over the 20k allowance?
Hi Toby, I enjoyed your video and have a question. I am now 64 years old and would like to start investing, however I am not in great health and worry about what would happen to the investment if I were to die. Does Trading 212 have anything in place for transferring them to a beneficiary in that situation and are there any penalties. Thanks for any advice on this.
Toby, I genuinely appreciate this video. I have been teetering on the brink of investing for a while now, and your explanation of how it can become a black hole really struck home. If you were nearer, the first round would be on me.
I’m in my early 50s and plan on holding everything I have through retirement. For that reason, I’m not too concerned about this concentration at the top since. . After testing different approaches without stable results, I’m wondering if anyone has experience learning from a hands-on mentor who focuses on the process rather than pre-recorded content.

I don’t know… this video is the first that’s made me feel hesitant about it

Good strategy here for anyone just getting started with investing

So if you put in £1 per day and the free £100 so £465 in year one. What would be a typical return if you say chose an index fund
Spacex 🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀

As an 18 year old how much should i invest regularly per month on index funds.
I like investing in a 20 fold football acca at 1872/1 odds

The best investment buy gold or houses.

This didn't really help with much, I know nothing about stocks and don't know that much more now having actively listening to 15 minutes
£6000 into investments (safe Index funds, in an ISA)

£~1400 into cash ISA
is this a good plan in ISAs
Best app ?
Hi Toby Can you tell me if a managed fund the same as index fund?
Does that free fractional share of £100 that goes into your isa count as some of your isa allowance. So if i deposited 20k lump sum then took the share via the promo code would that take me over the 20k allowance?
Just invest in sealed pokemon and every 5 years put the profits from selling at the top into an S&P 500 fund.
Dumb question: Why would a successful trader make youtube videos?
Invest yourself my advice 1/3 safe 100, 1/3 secureish 250 and 1/3 riskier AIM – I've achieved 34-86% from 2021-25 by doing that.
