Every money supplied to the economy ideally should create something in value that's how you can achieve zero inflation
The biggest takeaway is that finance itself isn’t the problem it’s how the system is designed and how incentives are structured. A healthy financial system should support innovation and growth, not just reward speculation. Great video for anyone trying to understand the hidden side of the economy.
Comments from Musk fanboys show that the only way to heal a sick economy—including the financial system—is a total collapse. Well, it will hurt both the guilty and the innocent, but there is no other option.
Big Tech in 2026: “Hold my beer.”
yea its the well dressed white guys
The finance industry used to be a heavily regulated industry to make sure it serves society over and above the profit motive. So that when society flourishes, the finance industry flourishes. Now it has no regulations, and the finance industry serves itself over and above society, and in fact, is gobbling up and hoarding capital and profits from ALL other industries.
Leaving the finance industry unregulated, is about as stupid a for profit fire department in your neighborhood. So when you're house fire starts, instead of just coming to put out the fire, they can say; 'HOW MUCH $ do you have! WHAT is it worth to you!?'
Ai doesn't exist.. nor will it ever exist.
Stop promoting garbage
The problem is… the banks don’t “allocate capital”… they create money when they issue a loan. This should be separated from the “finance industry” at large.

Finance is literally sportbetting for economics
This analysis remains incredibly relevant 9 months later. The tension between financial innovation and systemic stability—what you call the 'casino'—is exactly what's driving the current debt cycle. It’s a powerful reminder that when incentives are misaligned, the underlying economy pays the price. Great evergreen deep-dive.
Finance is where AI can do alot of good by eliminating non-value adding and inefficient finance roles. The industry is also plagued by the bias of unrestrained greed, ego and self interest – absolutely the wrong type of values for an industry that requires high trust and reliability
I came here to learn financial insult words and why i should use them on the finance industry
I got what i want
finance is just bits on computer that can ruin people real lives, it's disgusting
100% agree
Even when an economy has a bad year, the banks always make a killing financially.

You talk too fast
Since I was a little kid, I always felt the hair stand up on the back of my head when I heard people talking about how important it was to put your money into stocks. I remember my naive self thinking "who would want a stock – you can't eat or throw it". Now I realize that my naive younger self was more right to be skeptical than I ever could have realized.
The thumbnail seems racist but isn't
That's the stupidest title I have seen this year – people distrust finance because they do not understand it, just like they do not trust doctors or the police. But it is not the finance that destroys economies – it is stupidity of people, politicians and regulations imposed. finance is like gravity, it is something that exists, it helps to allocate resources most efficient way. Finance just is, it does not have an evil soul or good intentions, if you want to waste your money there is no force that can stop you so don;t be an idiot and don't blame finance for it. Btw in the video there is a claim that modern finance does not create anything new, no value added. Well I would expect more from an economist. Every financial market helps to allocate resources and it is its main value. And do not downplay it because it is hugely beneficial to all societies – short sellers for example help to question and identify poorly performing companies and are an important cog in the economic machine. If anything there is not enough of them hence now and then we end up with price bubbles. At another place in the video there is a claim that speculation does not give companies any new capital to work with – this is also moronic because every time someone sells stock they may need the capital to open new business so everybody who buys the stock provides them with the capital needed. So no, finance in general and short selling in particular is NOT a zero sum game, there is a huge value added to the society and it is not just a redistribution of value but hugely important part of economy.

The slop economy.
Don't create anything, just do a bit of bookeeping and you're making a fortune.
