What’s your favorite frugal hack?
Aloha Gabe, I’ve been following you for years and when you mentioned your living situation my interest was peaked. I’m curious what issues you’ve had to overcome? Tenants refusing to leave? Damage? Lucky no issues? Thanks!
If there are stories it would be an interesting video.
People laughing at crypto and tech stocks right now have no idea what it feels like to count pennies just to buy a gallon of milk. I used to work three dead-end jobs, crying in my car at night wondering how I’d ever afford my mom's medical bills. Everything clicked the moment I stopped gambling blindly and let a seasoned private trader show me how compound growth works in both markets. Turning $500 into my first multi five figure portfolio didn't just pay off debts, it bought my family a house and broke a generational curse. If you're still waiting for a sign to stop surviving and start building real wealth, this is it.
As much as I dislike AI it has helped me get part numbers for my car and help me fix simple things DIY😂
You should go to doctor at least once a year. Early detection saves lives
Im on day 20 of a 30 no spend challenge
No, not Honey… please don’t use Honey
Everyone is trying to downsize their house. Nothing to downsize to on the market now short of the places that cost more than the soulless McMansion everyone was tricked into during the last 20 years. The wealthy have been buying up the smaller places and renovating them out of affordability for decades now. Those homes are now illegal and/or ungodly expensive to build in many places thanks in part to the brainless push for high density living and SDC charges. We’ve got a fine mess on our hands.
35% saving rate here. With my salary it is impossible, at the moment, to icrease the rate
Please go to your doctor’s appointment. Just cause you FEEL good on the outside, doesn’t mean that there’s not health conditions growing on the inside of your body. I’ve known a lot of people who are healthy on the outside—- and had a deadly aneurysm in their 40s and died.
Correct: business owner here! Yes, biggest tax write off! However, you’re paying money , as your business scales—- so use the tax code loopholes.
This video is advice from an idiot. No need to watch this if you're looking for actual advice.
Thank you so much!!!! My problem is that I am disabled and live in chronic pain. SSDI is my only income. My savings is gone. Hard times. I made the mistake of using credit cards to help with food, gas, misc. spending, etc. Now, I'm on a mission, but the interests rates have me spending so much money that I cant pay down my debt and I do NOT want to file BK. I am so desparate to pay back my debt that I wrote Elon for a low interest loan to pay my high interest debt, for 10 years. Oh well, I have to figure this out on my own.
I stopped online shopping and it saved me a lot.
A make €30k a year as a 23y I feel even with all these tips I can only save €700 a month
You're telling people to evade taxes and to just "buy a house", you're a grifter.
Never skip the doctor or hospital.
I'm so lucky living in Norway, but we have a deductible when we are visiting doctors at $20 or so.
If you are feeling sick or in pain. Go too the hospital or too the doctor.
Money ain't worth it if you are risking dying.
My saving ratio every months are 52% and that's even with a "fun budget" of $300 every months i can use what ever i wan't.
Bringing in $3,100 after taxes $2,550 from the welfare plus $550 at work
Expenditure:
Rent: $632 (it started at $600 but because of house regulation index plus inflation) and i did follow house regulation index even though the landlord told me he didn't need that money because the other tentant he had didn't need too pay that, but a agreement is a agreement. $600 next year are worth less. But, he got a loyal tentant because it's so cheap and because he told me not too pay that. I will most likely stay here till he can't do it anymore (he is getting older).
$450 on food
$368 on everything i wan't some of it goes too bus plus train, but not very often.
$70 on electricity average
$45 on different subscriptions like netflix, youtube etc. i had alot more, but i cut it down for example i didn't need spotify plus youtube. You can find most of the music there (youtube) as well.
$35 on phone bill i did cancel on the last phone subscription because they had almost doubled the price within few years. Wasn't worth it any longer because i wasn't using all the data anyway.
Wi-fi included in the rent
Savings $1,600
I did save $200 every months by negotitate the rent. The most "toughest" answer i would be getting i reply was "no". I would be taken the apartment anyway. But i had written that i in the ads i wanted electricity included because the insecurity of increasing it, but after 2 year or so NorgesPris did came and it's been a "gold mine" for me, but we came too an agreement of $600 instead $800 it's been three years. It's been extremely cheap for me. Till now i have saved $7,200 just negotitate.
Excellent
Be prepared to lose friends…. especially if they are the spendy/trendy/go out types….
Really budget of the realism of your earnings and never get close to the red. Saving is never the key, it's what you spend is the key. The savings is the leftover, push that aside and don't think about it.
Hi Gabe We are curious ..Do you have any Pets?
I smiled when I watched this because I used to be the kind of person who bought things just because they were on sale. After a while I realized I wasn't actually saving money if I ended up with things I never used. These days I try to make a list before shopping and I usually wait until the next day before placing an order. Sometimes I even forget about the item completely, which tells me I probably didn't need it in the first place. I remember writing down a few websites while reading about shopping ideas, and Valuecom happened to be one of the names in my notes, but the habit that has helped me the most is simply slowing down before buying anything. It's surprising how much money those small changes can save over time without making life feel restrictive.
2:08 Oh how the tides have turned on Honey…
Honey is a scam! Never use it
Sometimes that $1:98 sauce is full of fillers, chemicals, and absolute garbage, whereas the expensive jar is clean ingredients and way better for you. Cheapest isn't always the best.
❤❤❤
Ah yes, why didn't I think about just simply saving 90% of my income, what an incredible savings strategy!
Yeah I’m a minimalist. My husband is not. He doesn’t want to get rid of a whole bunch of stuff in the basement because his parents gave him it and he thinks he might use it
