The Brits still had large invluence on the world's ocean's in the early 1900's , the yanks took over post WW2 and I don't see anyone taking that away from them anytime soon. Funny thing is not Mark or anyone else alive today is old enough to remember those days or what global trade routes were like before the US secured them. Most of the world's actual trade is still going by boat and until that changes whoever controls the oceans have a significant financial advantage.
The cash reserve point is underrated. I'd be curious to hear how VCs like Basis Set think about timing during uncertain markets.
