I have employees, and I pay them by the hour. Then, because they want more money, they ask me to pay based on the project value. My employees think they can choose to get more money out of me, Do I need my project to be done fast? My answer is no, It is easy, I pay them by the hour then if they sleep during working hours and become lazy, I just fire them and look for new guys. It is their fault to be lazy, sleeping, and not working.
Life is easy, so why employees didn't have a choice? because many people want to get the job. As long as there are many job seekers, I can pay them low because the position they are in can be replaced.
If you are an employee and you want to be paid whatever price that you want, then make sure that you are not replaceable. You are the only one for the job. Unfortunately, this position is more often taken by business owners.

I did designs before and let me tell you. Unless you are a corporation that has hit over the million mark, you wont really go for a logo designer. Even then you might not. Nowadays AI can simply generate you whatever you need, I lost my side hustle that way.
